What to Bring

If you would feel more comfortable, you are welcome to bring along a friend or family member to your consultation. Also, be sure to bring a list of any questions/concerns you may have so that you can discuss these with your consultant. Please bring a list of any medications you may be taking and if you have had any x-rays/MRI/CT examinations recently and have a copy of the report, please bring those along.

You are best advised to wear comfortable clothing such as sports-wear for the assessment.

On Arrival (First Visit)

You will be greeted by our friendly Chiropractic Assistant and made to feel at home and comfortable. We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

In this time, you will have 2 posture photographs taken. We will want to see what your spine posture is like from a 360 degree, 3D perspective. We take these pictures at various intervals as you progress along your care plan to help measure the changes in your body posture throughout the treatment.

Consultation

You will then meet your consultant who will want to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations. Your past medical history and your lifestyle will be discussed. This can all be relevant to solving the problems we could be facing.

Examination

After the case history your consultant will start the examination. This will include a thorough orthopaedic and neurological assessment of your body’s current function and performance. Once this has been completed your consultant will then decide whether any other further investigations such as X-ray’s are necessary to help with a more accurate diagnosis.

X-Rays

We want to give you the most thorough structured care plan we can to best suit your individual needs. To help us do that we may take an X-rays of your spine. This is essentially a ‘blueprint’ of the tissue inside you and will help us rule out issues like tumors, infection and fractures and make sure that it is safe to treat you with chiropractic.

We can also view the quality of your spinal tissue making our treatment programs as specific as they can be. At Peterborough Chiropractic we do not rely on guess work. That is why the consultant will need some time to consider all the information and structure your care package accordingly.

People are often very interested in seeing their X-Rays.

X-Rays are charged at £80 for one area (such as the neck) and £115 for two areas (neck and lower back).

Report of Findings (Second Visit)

This is an explanation of the condition of the spine and why it is causing you pain. We will go through with you the solution to the problem and answer any questions that you have. Allow 30-40 minutes for this appointment.

We will show you what’s happening within the spine and why, how we can solve the problem and help best to ‘fix’ it. We will go through the time it will take and the fees.

With this information you can then make an informed decision on starting care with us or not.

If you decide to go ahead will do your first adjustment at this appointment. We have special payment plans to make it as affordable as possible, with sessions starting from £38.
